Affiliate Prof. Goldstein wins IEEE, OSA honors

Affiliate Professor Evan Goldstein was recently elected to the rank of Fellow of the Optical Society of America “For contributions to the fundamental understanding of optically amplified multiwavelength communication systems.” He has also been named a 2004 IEEE Fellow “for contributions to optical communications.”

Ajay Anand wins ASA Best Paper

Congratulations to graduate student Ajay Anand, on being selected to receive the First Prize Best Student Paper Award by the Acoustical Society of America, 2003. The selection was made by the Technical Committee on Biomedical Ultrasound/Bioresponse to Vibration, and Ajay’s paper was titled “Monitoring evolution of HIFU-induced lesions with backscattered ultrasound”. Congratulations, Ajay!
