Biography
Dr. Surya Singh heads the Robotics Design Lab at The University of Queensland (UQ). His research interests lie in the design and control of novel dynamic systems in challenging (non-rigid/non-Lambertian) conditions. Recent results include new methods for fast decision making under uncertainty, fast motion correction, tissue motion compensation for precision needle targeting, and adaptive aids for the visually impaired. His robotics teaching has received prominence, including university nominations. His long-term goal is to advance robotics beyond its hackneyed stereotype and into the milieu.
